Limerick City Development Board launched its vision for Limerick City with the publication on Monday the 28th January 2002 of the "Limerick City Development Board Strategy for Economic, Social and Cultural Development", this sets out the goals and objectives for the City from now to 2012.

Launched by the Minister for the Environment and Local Government Mr. Dempsey, many of the groups, individuals and organisations who contributed to the preparation of the strategy were present when the strategy was launched. This was a proud moment for all those involved in this comprehensive strategy.

The strategy is broadly based covering all the major services in the City, it gives direction to where we want the City to go, what we want to achieve, it provides a vision of what we as a community want our city to be like in 10 years. To reinforce this commitment for delivering on this important strategy all Board Members signed

"A Declaration for the City of Limerick"

this commits the respective organisations and representative bodies to the City Development Board Strategy through their adoption of this declaration.
